Thanks for putting things in focus guys. You've just inspired me to dust off the bike and take a ride today.
Like some others here, my life has been in turmoil for the last year or so. My marriage of 21 years ended and my lone surviving parent passed. My ex-wife and my 8 year old son are now living 2000 miles away with another family. I've spent over $15000 in legal fees and financially I'm so broke I can't pay attention. I've been blowing off riding because other things were "more important"....Screw it...I'M RIDING TODAY!

What a great story.
BIG KUDOS to your son for not quitting. It's when things get tough that the winners rise to the top. He may have finished last in the race, but he had the biggest victory.
You should be extremely proud of him.
